What's New in Publisher Release 2014
BlueCielo Publisher 2014 adds the following new fixes and improvements:
- If multiple attempts were made to publish a document, the data that is shown for the publishing job in the PROCESS LOGS list is now grouped by each attempt. The data for each attempt is collapsible and expandable and the last attempt is expanded by default. Any error messages appear in red text.
- A new option Batch size has been added to publishing jobs. It specifies the maximum number of documents to publish per run of the job. The default is 0 (unlimited), which is the maximum of 10000. When a publishing job includes more documents than the batch size, the current job run will be truncated to one batch of this size and the remaining documents will be published in separate batches by each scheduled run of the job until the entire job is complete.
- The user interface of the rendering modules has been made more consistent with the rest of Publisher.
- The name of a cluster node may now be specified during publishing job creation.
- Rendering AutoCAD drawings using a layout name that contains German characters no longer fails.
- The email notification options for submitted documents has been improved. There are now two options, Notify submitter when publishing a document succeeded and Notify submitter when publishing a document failed. The messages for failed publishing jobs now contain details about each item in the job.
- New rendering options have been added to publishing jobs that allow a pre-existing Adobe PDF rendition template file to be published for documents with specified file extensions or that have no file extension.
- Installing Publisher 2013 side-by-side with Publisher 2012 would generate Error 1923: Service BlueCielo Meridian Project Portal Publishing Service (MeridianProjectPortalService) could not be installed.
- MS Excel now longer needs to be installed on the server to configure a publishing job with an Excel spreadsheet as the metadata source.
- The MicroStation rendering module has been supplemented by the Teigha® library from the Open Design Alliance. Some of the MicroStation rendering module options are not supported and some different options are available. We recommend that you review the settings and output of this module after upgrading to this rendering module.
- Windows 8.1 is supported for master or cluster nodes.
- A confirmation dialog box is now shown when you are about to delete a rendering profile that is used by a publishing job or a publishing job that has pending documents.
- The usability of uploading resource files has been improved.
- Print stamp settings are now shown correctly.
- Invalid TIFF image dimensions are no longer saved by the AutoVue rendering module,
Build 3.1.44
- Entering an invalid publishing job name now shows a more descriptive error message.
- The option Include redlines now appears correctly for publishing jobs that specify the AutoVue rendering module and redlines are rendered.
- Rendering many Inventor documents could fail with an Unspecified error message because a document did not open correctly in Inventor. A new setting, InventorRenderSessionMaxDocuments has been added to the PublishingCapability.dat file. The setting can be adjusted to limit the number of Inventor files that are rendered in a single Inventor session.
